Researchers designed zinc-finger nucleases (ZFNs) that promoted the disruption of endogenous T cell receptor (TCR) beta- and alpha-chain genes. Lymphocytes treated with ZFNs lacked surface expression of CD3-TCR and expanded with the addition of interleukin-7 (IL-7) and IL-15. [Nat Med] Abstract

Expression of Functional P-Selectin Glycoprotein Ligand 1 on Hematopoietic Progenitors Is Developmentally Regulated
Investigators demonstrate that functional P-selectin glycoprotein ligand 1 is expressed at low levels on hematopoietic stem cells, but upregulated on the cell surface of progenitors that bear other homing molecules known to be important for thymic settling. [J Immunol] Abstract
