Sphingosine-1–Phosphate Facilitates Trafficking of Hematopoietic Stem Cells and Their Mobilization by CXCR4 Antagonists in Mice
Scientists show that the Sphingosine-1-Phosphate (S1P) gradient between the bone marrow and the blood, and expression of S1P receptor 1, is essential for optimal hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) mobilization by CXCR4 antagonists including AMD3100, and for the trafficking of HSC during steady state hematopoiesis. Forced TR2/TR4 Expression in Sickle Cell Disease Mice Confers Enhanced Fetal Hemoglobin Synthesis and Alleviated Disease Phenotypes
Because forced expression of TR2/TR4 in murine adult erythroid cells paradoxically enhanced fetal γ-globin gene expression in transgenic mice, investigators wished to determine if forced TR2/TR4 expression in a sickle cell disease model mouse would result in elevated fetal hemoglobin synthesis and thereby alleviate the disease phenotype. Synergistic Induction of p53 Mediated Apoptosis by Valproic Acid and Nutlin-3 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia
